Save Borderline Helpline from closure
Save Borderline Helpline from closure

Borderline is a confidential helpline for people with mental health needs. It offers emotional and listening support for people who are bereaved, depressed, anxious, lonely, isolated or distressed. Help is just a phone call away. The service is run by fully trained volunteers supported by Social Work Services and Borders Health Board, and is open 365 days a year.
Borderline has been given six months notice that it will lose all its funding (from NHS Borders and Scottish Borders Council), despite the fact that there has been no consultation regarding this decision.
Borderline has received over 90,000 calls since it began 20 years ago, and independent valuations consider it to be exceptional value for money. Borderline is a lifeline for those in our community with wide ranging mental health problems. This service literally saves lives, and it's closure would have a devastating impact on those who rely on this vital support.
