The signees of this petition are protesting the absence of ethernet outlets in all rooms of University Funded Housing and Residence Halls, including but not limited to, Fraternity and Sorority Housing, and upper classmen Residence Halls. These outlets, which are already in North Century Park, make accessing high speed and reliable internet(which in this day and age are basic amenities on the campus of such a well respected learning institution) quick and painless. With the absence of reliable WiFi, which we have experienced slow and just complete outages, it makes it harder and harder to do schoolwork. We are advocating that changes are made so that there is at least one per each resident, in each living space(bedroom) and that the University should pay for this itself. If the school still continues to offer online courses, expect students to turn in work online and expect students to use resources on the internet, this change is essential to bettering our University and each and every individual student's experience here.
