Make one million human life in Meghalaya and Assam (India) count
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
Life of minorities in democratic North-East India has deteriorated beyond imagination. Over 100 kilometer road on the path of more than 100 villages with about 1 million people had never being worst in 70 years of India's history of independence. Life of these 1 million honest and hard working people has been paralyzed. The road that connects these helpless people with other cities and towns is in terrible shape. The tar road has turned into mud and stone road in last couple of years. Elderly people with medical emergencies, young students travelling to schools, people moving goods and services are almost in complete halt. Simply to say - it seems there is no guardian or care taker or leader for these 1 million lives.
These are unfortunate human lives in border of Assam and Meghalaya. The road connects from Tikrikilla to Mankachar via Phulbari, Rajabala, and Hatsingimari. This is the western part of Meghalaya's West Garo Hills district bordering Assam, and Assam's Dhubri district nearing border of Meghalaya, West Bengal and Bangladesh. People living in this region are mostly minorities in both states of Meghalaya and Assam.
Government of Meghalaya and Assam should take action immediately to improve life of these vast population. Govt. needs to start with road condition getting better that will allow mobility for these people.
The elected leaders, responsible, in these region are:
MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly):
- Michael T Sangma, Tikrikilla Constituency, Meghalaya
- Abu Taher Mondal, Phulbari Constituency, Meghalaya
- Ashahel D Shira, Rajabala Constituency, Meghalaya
- Clement Marak, Selesella Constituency, Meghalaya
- Dr. Motiur Rohman Mondal, Mankachar Constituency, Assam
MP (Member of Parliament):
- Conrad Kongkal Sangma, Tura Constituency, Meghalaya
- Badruddin Ajmal, Dhubri Constituency, Assam
My humble request to all these leaders to have a close look at lives of these people they represent. Make these human lives better by rebuilding the roads and increase mobility.
