Require the Use of Masks by Students in Fulton County Schools

The options presented to Fulton County students and their families for going back to school in the fall make them choose between remaining a part of their school community and their health. Students can opt to do school fully online, but be forced to withdraw from their school and enroll in an alternative high school without access to extracurriculars, or return to their school without appropriate safety measures in place. This means that some students will not be able to graduate from their own high school. If students wish to attend and/or graduate from their own high school, they must also choose to put their health directly at risk, as Dr. Looney will not require students to wear masks in schools that would protect each student’s life, as well as the lives of their teachers. We demand that Dr. Looney revise his plans for the return to school in the fall, and make it possible for students to stay enrolled at their home school while virtually learning. We also demand that Dr. Looney put the health of his students and teachers first by requiring masks for all people in the school building.
