Louis Aquilina started this petition to Dr. Luttrell and the LCHS Student Council Association

After the LCHS logo vote, we all were lead to believe that we were going to be Navy Captains. We were all so excited by the description, "A captain is the leader of a vessel, navigating their team through both peaceful and tumultuous times.", which proudly referenced our NJROTC program. This new logo is a case of bait-and-switch. It is not representative of what the masses voted for to be the new masscot.  The helmeted solilder seems to more clearly depict an Army Captain than the Navy Captain. This negates our Navy JROTC program that obviously proceeded the logo and name change. A naval captain is a higher rank (O-6) than his Army counterpart bearing the same name (O-3).  A Navy Captain's seniority & our school's connection to it are among the many reasons for changing this logo. So I believe it is crucial for us to navigate these tumultuous seas away from a logo that looks more like an Army Captain and set a course for one more representative of our Navy Captain rank.
