Multiple school districts are taking a move towards this where they give certain incentives toward exempting students from finals. For example, Rochester Community Schools uses a similar policy where students meet certain attendance and grade policies. Implementing these incentives at every school would increase district attendance and grades due to students wanting to work harder in order to be exempt from final exams. Current students at Warren Mott High School are exempt from midterms and finals given that they might certain attendance and grade criteria. This option is not available at Warren Consolidated Schools other two high schools, Cousino Senior High School and Sterling Heights High School.  Warren Mott's current policy is no more than 5 unexcused or excused absences along with a 77% or higher in every class.
