In recent months, the Shelby County School System has initiated a series of changes to our school internet, as well as school-issued laptops. These changes include the complete removal of non-Microsoft products.

If this process is completed, many students who do not have internet access at home, or do not have personal laptops will lose access to crucial educational applications such as Google Classroom and Zoom, as well as easily accessible social applications for students like Discord and GroupMe.

We can all agree that education is one of the most important factors of the sucess later in life. However, these obstacles towards children's learning do nothing but thwart teachers' ability to teach by forcing them to switch to uncomfortable alternatives.
