We are having the same problems at Rutgers University, and it is completely unacceptable. We are hoping to stop the continued breaches of privacy and data theft from third party companies as well. Please consider looking at and signing our petition as well. We’re all in the same boat!

Yes, please remove all security measures. They are all unfair.

I am an instructor for Dallas College and I support removing these technologies from our classrooms.
They violate student privacy and potentially collect and use data in ways not made clear to students, instructors, and college administrators. Surveillance is not a necessary part of the learning process.

Furthermore, mandating use of these technologies disadvantages students already disproportionately harmed by the digital divide in our society. If Dallas College is seriously committed to educational equity, we will reconsider the way these testing tools also perpetuate inequality.

As educators, rather than lean on "high-stakes exams," we need to reevaluate the way we teach students in this new era of online education, and find new methods to assess students.

Our responsibility to students and our commitment to equity should outweigh any obligation to educational technology vendors.

I’m signing because I am a full time ,taking 5 classes, student at Brookhaven college in Farmers Branch Tx and I do not have the funds to purchase a microphone or video camera for all my final exams. I have already spent a total of $250 on access codes and textbooks for my all online classes this semester. I cannot keep up with these payments, I have no job because of COVID and I am struggling academically already as I have dyslexia and working online just isn’t for me, so this semester is already hard enough, why make it more stressful for us broke college students when all we are trying to do is keep up with our learning during a global pandemic. Have so empathy for us, please.
