Why this petition matters

Started by Harrison Clement

Over the last few years, I have had the absolute pleasure of being a King's Ridge Tiger. However, one expectation of the school has fallen short of its ideal circumstance, and that is our football program. The problem is that the program is severely lacking initiative and an overall winning mindset. The problem that needs to be solved is simple enough, as the culture of King's Ridge Football requires a serious change.

We have never had a winning football season in our decade of having a team. Moreover, we are continuously disappointed season after season regarding coaching, scheming, and overall performance. Practices are ineffective, as lots of time is wasted throughout the near 3 hour time frame to which the players are  committed. This season we have been outscored 72-402 (an average of 8-45 a game) through nine games, and we have looked incompetent in every game besides our one win this season, coming from an overtime victory. Every game, I see a team that struggles due to a lack of preparation and putting our players in a position to which they cannot succeed. I quit with two games remaining in this season because of complications with my coaching staff and disagreements over what was perceived as myself complicating our team's situation when in reality I was only trying to help. This further proves the ineptness of our head coaches, as sufficient words to describe them would be stubborn and unwilling to listen.

To quote Albert Einstein on the idea of change, “The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” I believe that this applies to our situation as a King's Ridge community and the only way things will get better is by changing our culture as we know it. I believe a way to achieve this is to get our kids to believe in the program again, and the best way to achieve it is through the changing of authority. I can personally guarantee that I will commit to the team, most likely followed by several others, if the culture is changed. Sign this petition if you agree, and this message will not go unnoticed.
