Asaba, the Capital of Delta State has been suffering from heavy flooding whenever it rains. The people of Asaba live in fright of the rainy seasons and with the rains come rising sea levels when the River Niger overflows it's banks. The flooding situation in Asaba has continued to get worse as roads are either abandoned or constructed shabbly without plans for drainage. Many Deltans in Asaba are not only having to deal with high levels of poverty but the flooding also carries with it wastes and debris which can potentially cause public health epidemics. Asaba continues to crumble on its knees to heavy flooding and an overflowing River Niger. As an issue of public health and safety, we plead with our Governor to do more by demanding accountability from all contractors who have and are handling the construction of roads in Asaba. OUR PEOPLE ARE FLOODED IN. WE NEED HELP!
