Due to a concerning increase in the COVID positivity rates in CT, the student body feels now is not an appropriate time to administer midterms at the High School due to a significant decrease in attendance directly related to testing positive, close contact quarantining, and families keeping students home out of health concerns. Although the goal this year was to return to “normal”, we must consider context. While at some point exams must be administered again, as it is crucial in education, to do so now is unfair to students. As always, health should come first, and midterms have been adjusted in the past, meaning this is more than doable.
