This is probably to late, but wow what a service, I got an out of hours appointment and was seen within 10minutes, I can't thank the staff enough. This is why we need this service! Cambridge is too far!

Minor injuries I its help to reduce pressure on overwhelmed A&E departments and are crucial to rural and semi rural communities.

These hospitals need to stay open, not only because they provide essential services for the communities in which they are based but A&E's are stretched at the best of times and the closures could have a significant negative impact upon patient care.

Without the minor injuries unit local people will have to either go to their local doctor, their out of hours surgeries or Addenbrookes, all of which are stretched beyond breaking point! Why
close a medical unit that is so much in demand

I live in Cambridgeshire and our NHS is bad enough without closing another essential department.

As someone with a rare degenerative genetic condition that causes frequent joint dislocations, the fact that Minor Injuries is 20mins away and family can get me there, as opposed to A+E which is an hour away and requires an ambulance, is fantastic! They have always been wonderful there and are so kind and compassionate, as opposed to A+E which is too short staffed for staff to have the time to understand my condition or the time to read up on it. Minor Injuries even put up leaflets about my condition in the waiting room and all the staff read them too! To me this makes such a difference and the loss of this service would be devastating! Thank you Xx

One of the reasons I moved to Ely is because of access to a minor injuries unit and therefore providing necessary accessible healthcare to my young family . We have used the minor injury unit at least 7 times in 4 years so to us it is a very necessary service
