Problem
P-TECH is a early college program offered to incoming freshmen at Frederick Douglass High School in Upper Marlboro, MD. Students have a huge load of work, a lot of stress, and frankly, to much on theur plate to have this project thrown on them. These complaints have come from both Year 1 and Year 2 students. We believe we should NOT have to do this project, especially since it’s not a requirement to graduate in PGCPS.

Solution
I believe that if there are students that actually want to do this project they should. I believe it shouldn’t be an obligation.

Personal story
I am a Year 2 P-TECH HIM Student. Along with regular high school courses, I take Anatomy & Physiology, and I take Medical Terminology. These are really hard courses, and keep in mind, I am only 16 years old. P-TECH is very beneficial for my family and I however, it has caused me a lot of stress and this project adds on to it. I should be focused on my courses and my high school classes instead of some project Prince George’s County isn’t even demanding for graduation.
