Support the reinstatement of the German Program at Kittredge Magnet School
As many of you have heard, the German program at Kittredge Magnet School in Dekalb County has been terminated. There is now no foreign language program at the school. This not only affects Kittredge itself, but also Chamblee Middle School and Chamblee Charter High School, the schools that Kittredge feeds into. Research has proven that early exposure to foreign language is critical for success in the language later on. The elimination of the German program at Kittredge will cause a loss of three years of German for most students, which will force the Chamblee Middle School teachers to start completely at the beginning. If this happens, we will not be able to have advanced German classes, such as German Literature and German VI, both currently taught by Herr (Mr.) Uwe Neuhaus at CCHS. The success of the German program has been incredible, but it is largely due to the German foundation students have been getting at Kittredge. Please sign this petition to show your support for the reinstatement of the German program at Kittredge Magnet School.
