NO REZONING, NO REBALANCE, NO CHANGE IN FEEDER PATTERN of Riverstone Children
We, the Residents of Riverstone community, urge FBISD BOT to UPHOLD THE PLAN FOR PERMANENT ADDITIONS TO FORT SETTLEMENT MS THAT WAS UNANIMOUSLY VOTED (7-0) BY THE BOT on May 14th 2018. We strongly support “FSMS addition” because it is the best solution that avoids rezoning of any children with a minimal cost (5.4M). We request no rezone, no rebalance and to keep the existing feeder pattern.
When rezoning could be one solution for Meadows ES which is too old to maintain, BOT voted to spend 15.6M rebuilding it for the sake of children.
When rezoning maybe needed 6 years from now for Ridge Point HS, BOT was very proactive and voted to spend 120M building a second new HS there for the sake of students. It is clear that BOT was doing whatever it takes to ensure stability of FBISD children in both cases.
Children in the Riverstone community deserve the same: stability. Please do not have our children be victims of another rezone and feeder pattern change. Here we simply ask BOT to apply the same principle and include the 5.4M budget in the coming 1 billion bond to avoid rezoning of Riverstone children.
We request the BOT to consider these points and stand firmly with the decisions voted on May 14th and fulfill the need for additions to FSMS; thus ensuring that we can still entrust FBISD with our children’s education and trust in the stability of the system and committing to fairness.
