No MIQ for returning double vaxxed and tested NZ citizens. Isolate at home.

Please allow us to visit our critically ill family members overseas without the stress of having to book a MIQ spot when we return to New Zealand. In many cases we travel just to say goodbye. I am in this position, my father is critically ill with heart related problems. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren live in New Zealand and he has visited faithfully every second year since 2001. He will never see his Grandchildren and their children again but he could at least see his own children. My sister and I need to be by his bedside but the risk of not getting a spot in MIQ, makes this impossible for obvious reasons. We are both double vaccinated and happy to self isolate for the full period on our return. We are low risk!
Doing away with MIQ spots for double vaccinated NZ citizens is a logical move, not only for people wishing to say goodbye to loved ones but also for big business, New Zealand athletes, our amazing entertainers, charity workers and so many more!
Very few people think you are doing this right at the moment. Get back some credibility and show you are flexible. Our vaccination rates warrant this action. It would be a low risk, highly popular move that would benefit thousands of New Zealand citizens.
Please enable my sister and I to be with our Father when he most needs us. The lack of risk involved makes this a basic human right.
