As united Zambians For Good Governance, we note with patriotic concern that the office held by F. Lilian Shawa-Siyunyi SC as Director of Public Prosecutions within the National Prosecution Authority is now untenable. 

Ms. Siyunyi does not have the trust and confidence of the People of Zambia to carry out her duties with impartiality. A notable trend of nolle prosequi along political lines is evident and it would be naive and unpatriotic of Zambians to ignore this indefensible trend. Against this backdrop, her inability to act within the confines for her mandate reveals that she may be politically compromised. 

We urge Ms. Siyunyi to resign before aggrieved citizens who have been victims of her miscarriages of justice file more complaints against her at the Judicial Complaints Commission, and to do so before her questionable tenure escalates to be decided by a Judicial Complaints Tribunal. We are aware of existing and historical complaints against Ms. Siyunyi at the JCC. 

The fight against corruption and the desire to see our country progress is non-political, and as such, Zambians For Good Governance will not be accused of being members of any political party or sponsored by any individual in our call to see our country succeed. We desire a Zambia in which we can all flourish. With corruption, Zambia’s success is unachievable.
