Petition Closed

Your vote as a State Committee Member of the Democratic Party of Georgia can help establish an Environmental and Clean Energy Caucus within the Democratic Party of Georgia.

Caucuses for constituent groups may be formed upon the request of twenty-five (25) members of the State Committee and a vote of two-thirds of the State Committee, provided there is a fifty percent quorum.

We must meet the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Fostering environmental stewardship helps people improve the way we manage our resources so that we can make a positive difference that contributes to a healthier more sustainabale world.

Letter to
State Representatives to the Democratic Party of Georgia
I just signed the following petition addressed to: State Representatives to the Democratic Party of Georgia.

As a state committee representative you can help establish an Environmental and Clean Energy Caucus with the Democratic Party of Georgia with your vote.

Caucuses for constituent groups may be formed upon the request of twenty-five (25) members of the State Committee and a vote of two-thirds of the State Committee, provided there is a fifty percent quorum.

The Environmental/Green Caucus would be an action organization within the Democratic Party of Georgia dedicated to the preservation of our natural environment and advocates for green development and promotion of renewable energy and clean energy resources within the state of Georgia.

We will work to protect, improve and restore our natural waters to be enjoyed and respected for future generations. We will promote legislation to protect water quality and the balanced and responsible uses of our natural resources so that our future generations can enjoy a “quality of life” that is preserved for their enjoyment and stewardship. We will promote public education and encourage citizen action.

We will promote solar, wind and clean energy industries that already employ more people in the U.S. than the coal-mining industry, even though we currently get far less of our energy from wind and solar than from coal. We will promote new job creation by encouraging energy upgrades to make existing homes and commercial buildings more efficient.
