Lowering Preschool Tuition While Schools Are Closed

Lowering Preschool Tuition While Schools Are Closed
Why this petition matters
Because of everything that is going on in United States with the COVID-19, many people’s financial situation has been affected and cannot afford to pay Full Tuition for Preschool.
Despite the efforts for online teaching from Downtown Doral Elementary School and all the teachers, the Pre-K age group (4-5 yrs old) needs a lot of support from the parents while doing their online classes. Half of the learning has become homework assignments that again, the parent needs to supervise.
Therefore, we find it only fair that DDCES should not charge full tuition for the months that the school is closed.
Our economy has shut down and many of the families have been affected financially. Many of the parents from our class are not allowed to go to work by official orders from Governor DeSantis, which means our income will be drastically reduced. Everyone will be forced to re-prioritize their financial obligations, which includes Preschool tuition payments for our children that are home.
We are a community. When the school asks the parents to get involved on Give Miami day, we do and we raise money for DDCES. When the school asks parents to get involved and support fundraisers that are important to the school administrators, we do. Now we are in a situation that many of the DDCES families are going through an economic crisis, so we ask again, that the school reconsiders their request for full tuition payments.
