The human mind has a natural capacity to resist negative stimuli but we cannot continue to ignore what is happening in our schools and the daily harm that our children are facing as we do the simple task of sending our beloved children off to school every morning. 

Kendrick Castillo exhibited the courage that many of us in this country lack. The courage to face a crisis head-on. His sacrifice for his fellow students should always be held as an example of how to care for your fellow man. 

This petition is an effort to rename STEM School Highlands Ranch to Kendrick Castillo Memorial High School. While this country sits idly by and continues to nothing about the crisis facing our school children, the least we can do is make sure that his name never becomes a footnote in history. That his community and the nation is forever aware of the bravery and sacrifice he made for his fellow man.
