Faux should present factual evidence to support their claims before harming public health and confusing patients. They have no idea what they are talking about. Not a single fact was presented! Nurse practitioners have been taking care of patients for decades. It appears we are being used as pawns to further a week political agenda. It is unfortunate that millions will fall for these scare tactics. There are those too that are smart enough to do their on research. If someone chooses not to see an NP, fine, they can settle for waiting weeks for a 5 minute appointment with an MD.

I am a Registered Nurse with a Master degree and highly educated in that I can perform a Physical Exam without obtaining guidance from a MD.
Nurses are educated professionals and we should be treated in such a way that promote professionalism, no be degraded by anyone.

As a nurse, and the wife, mother and mother in law of disabled veterans I am delighted to hear the VA is improving the care veterans receive by having nurses practice to the full extent of their license. I have worked with several nurse midwives, advanced practice nurses, including Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, and Family Practice Nurse Practitioners, and I believe their care to be very comparable to that of physicians or in many cases even better. Nurses look at the whole person, not only the diagnosis or body part. Shame of FOX for spreading such an untruth. Of course (some) doctors will complain about nurse practitioners, after all they stand to lose money when patients can receive their care from nurses, but be assured that nurses take our ethical standards very serious, our first and only responsibility is to our patients. We would absolutely get physicians involved if the patient's condition warrants it. I don't know how many physicians can say the same.

Ignorance is abundant about the nursing profession in the media as is proven here. This media outlet is spreading their ignorance as truths to their followers, and that is an injustice to the nursing profession.

CRNAs are highly trained professionals who KNOW what they're doing. This is not a new skills set for them! They are professional nurses trained and licensed in anesthesia care (and they already have the holistic background and skills of an RN prior to learning their new skill set in anesthesia!)

this reports is very biased. Reported with intention of patient to fear from being taken care of by a nurse. Very unprofessional reporting.

Nurse practitioners and nurse anesthetics provide excellent care both in the VA and elsewhere. Many of my patients have told me they prefer NPS to doctors. AND we've been doing it for decades.

Fox needs to look at the evidence surrounding patient care and patient outcomes. Do your homework and present the facts.
