Hi! My name is Cameryn Reaves. I'm 17 and a live in North Carolina. While thinking of what America is to do with the confederate statues I have come up with a solution. Many conservatives argue that the statues should stay standing because they are a reminder of their history and southern heritage. Many liberals will argue the statues need to be taken down as they praise racist men who fought for the right to own slaves. I believe that the statues are a good reminder of our history but not in their current locations. theses statues belong in museums, not public parks.

I urge the US Government to erect museums across the south to house these statues. The first of which being in Birmingham, Alabama. With 123 confederate symbols across the state and it's rampant history of racial discrimination, violence, and injustice I believe it is the absolute perfect place for the first muesem. In Birmingham the museum will stand as a reminder of not only the horrible things that have happened in Birmingham but as a sign that change is coming. No longer will confederate leaders bask in the sun as if they were still living and breathing. It is beyond time it finally put them to rest where they belong. I urge you to sign this petition and get these statues out of the parks and into muesems where they should've been in the first place.
