Every time the Ford government announces another lock down, Short term rentals have to shut down, cancel reservations, and loose revenue. Yet, hotels, motels and resorts are allowed to stay open. These facilities allow people from all different areas to cross each other’s paths. Potentially exposing more people every time they have to get something from the local grocery stores, shops & restaurants (since most of the accommodations mentioned do not have access to a kitchen for their guests).

Meanwhile, STR are not allowed to operate. They cannot rent to a single family, that bring their own essential items with them, cook their own meals in the kitchen provided and enjoy some rest and relaxation for their own mental health. 

It’s not just about the STR owners but the guests as well. People need an outlet to decompress, get back to nature and clear their minds. It’s frustrating for both parties when reservations need to be cancelled, some more than once, as each wave keeps bumping their reservation further down the road.

Don’t Short term rentals sound like the safer option? If STR owners follow the rules and our guests do too, why are we not allowed to operate?
