Our children are suffering. They need to be back in the classroom. Online learning is not benefiting our children, and its making parents lives more difficult. Parents can not afford to leave work to teach their children. Children have been proven by many doctors to be low in the chain of transmission and according to hospitals Covid 19 is not effecting our children the way it is long term care which is where your focus should be. Children are more likely to suffer from mental health problems, I've already seen it in my own children. Children are developing anxiety from isolation, loneliness, feelings of failure and being overwhelmed by trying to complete work online . This is detrimental to their health and their future....our children are our future! Our future doctors, nurses ,psws, firefighters, paramedics, law enforcement and even government officials and so much more. Missing this much school is going to effect if they graduate in time or if their grades are good enough to get into Colleges and Universities. This year they have missed so much school already this effects their memory to what they have already learned, reading,writing, math skills instead those are replaced with videos and screens. They are being asked to sit infront of a screen from 830 until 250 that much screen time is not good for anyone let alone children and their developing brains. 

This is not beneficial where the problems are which is LTC so many of those caregivers are also parents they are already short staffed. What do you think is going to happen when all these parents have to take time off to teach their children....the LTC is going to continue to suffer and as a former psw who ended up quiting my job in LTC back in March to teach my 3 of 4 school age children what do you think these other parents are going to be forced to do. I've since opened a home daycare but now that you have closed school again I now have to take care of my children and homeschool with the addition of 4 children I care for who's parents are essential this means they are not all recieving the full attention they deserve and my children's school work isn't getting done and they are distracted overwhelmed and cry all day....navigating computers is hard for them, they miss their friends and teachers and they are not learning without the quality education they deserve.. The education our tax dollars help pay for. If the government employees can go on non essential travel to vacation than our children can go to school. This is no longer about controlling the virus but about controlling the people.

We demand change and that you open the schools so our children can learn and we can work.
