Hello all, Speak For Us is an organization geared towards bringing awareness to the correctional facilities in Toronto and the issues that inmates face while being detained.

The primary facilities are the Toronto East detention centre and the Toronto South detention centres, these are all male facilities that house about 2,000 inmates in total.

Some issues that inmates face are lack of resources, poor food and water quality, lack of sanitary products, non nutritional canteen items, lack of activities, poor lockdown measures, lack of mental health resources/measures, limited visitations etc.

We fight for equality and fairness for everyone ! Inmates are usually frowned upon in society and also in correctional facilities therefor their essential needs are often not met. As a community and as a city we should all come together and fight for equality for everyone no matter what colour, religion, financial status, neighborhood, or any walk of life, we are all people who deserve to be treated like people. With awareness we can spark a change and help inmates not only be treated fairly while incarcerated but we can also provide them with the tools and resources that they need to integrate back into society.
