Tony Clay started this petition to Governor Doug Ducey

Salt River Police Officer Clayton Townsend was on a traffic stop on Loop-101 Tuesday (1/8/19) night when a man, who police say was texting and driving, ran into Officer Townsend who died later at the hospital.

Arizona currently does not have any law restricting the use of a handheld mobile device.  The use of a handheld mobile device is very distracting the definition of using a handheld mobile device is the following; Using at least one hand to hold a mobile phone to make a call; Dialing a mobile phone by pressing more than a single button; or Reaching for a mobile phone in a manner that requires a driver to maneuver so that he or she is no longer in a seated driving position, restrained by a seat belt.

It’s Very Simple

No REACHING No HOLDING No DIALING
No TEXTING No READING
