ECOT parents demanding legal action against Ohio and the Ohio Dept of Education
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,500!
The Electronic Classroom Of Tomorrow (ECOT) has been a leader in public, online learning. ECOT was the first online charter school in the nation to graduate students. In 2001, ECOT graduated 21 students and in 2016 it graduated more than 2,500 students.
Yesterday there was a decision made by ECOT's sponsor to pull their sponsorship and close the school. The state of Ohio, John Kasich the Govenor, and the Ohio Department of Education DID NOTHING on our children's behalf. They didn't care that 12,000 students were displaced mid-year leaving many Junior and Seniors without school options and possibly having to settle for getting a GED. We, the parents of the ECOT students who lost their school yesterday feel that action should be taken against these lawmakers for putting money before our children's education. OUR CHILDREN WERE LEFT BEHIND.
