PenAir Plattsburgh to Boston EAS Contract
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
I am writing this in support of the PenAir flight operation out of Palttsburgh NY. PenAir depends on an EAS Contract received by the government that financially supports the Plattsbugh operation making it possible for the North Country residents to have affordable air transportation between Plattsburgh and Boson daily for the past 6 years. Every 2 yrs a new bid is placed to determine which airline receives the EAS contract. At a recent meeting legislation decided to support an airline that has proposed service to Washington Dulles Airport. With this proposal North Country residents that have come to rely on dependable transportation to Boston will no longer have that provided to them as an option.
Most passengers use PenAir on a repeat basis to commute to Boston. North Country residents have been able to look outside the local area to find employment in the Boston area while still living and enjoying our community. Many residents have been able to go outside the local area hospitals and doctors for advanced medical care in the Boston area, receiving second opinions and treatments. Patients are able to fly to Boston in less than an hour for regularly scheduled appointments returning the same day on the evening flight. Those passengers rely on PenAir's service to Boston for both employment and advanced health care. Without the service PenAir provides this will no longer be a viable option. PenAir has been part of our community for 6 years. They have provided Honor Flights to Washington for 100s of local veterans to tour the memorials of their fallen comrades; many have never had the opportunity to tour these sights and would not have without PenAir.
If you or family have flown on PenAir from Plattsburgh to Boston or if you believe that PenAir is a valuable asset to our community please take the time to sign this petition and forward to your friends and family. DOT will make a decision on the airline receiving the EAS contract on Feb 8th. Legislation will convey their opinion to DOT however DOT has the final decision as to the best interest of Plattsburgh. Please let DOT know your opinion and the desire of our community by writing letters, writing direct emails to DOT, signing petitions, and commenting with your testimonials.
Your interest and action is appreciated. Thank you!
