Find FoodRunner a proper place to operate and put them back in business.

FoodRunner is a mobile kitchen (i.e. a food truck) which was created with the specific goal of addressing the difficulty that our returning veterans, especially our disabled veterans, have in finding employment. The plan was to hire these veterans to work for FoodRunner and eventually offer franchise opportunities so some of the Veterans could have a business of their own. This would provide the opportunity to hire even more veterans, including disabled veterans.
After obtaining all of the proper permits, FoodRunner opened sucessfully at the park and ride at exit 10. Then about two weeks later, and without explaination, a DOT official ordered FoodRunner to immediately vacate the site or risk arrest by the state police and impounding of the mobile kitchen. Being evicted from the site was a total suprise, especially when another vendor had operated a similar business on the same site for almost 10 years with the full knowledge of the DOT.
The DOT had said they would work with FoodRunner to find them a new spot somewhere else in town. To date, no new spot has been found and/or approved, Foodrunner is still out of business and the veterans that were hired are still out of work, not to mention the hundreds of pounds of food that had to be disposed of.
Please sign this petition and get FoodRunner up and running again.
