College Entrance Tests (CETs) are fast approaching and it is undeniable that the Grade 12 students who are supposed to take CETs this year, whose schools have started their academic year in early June, could hardly have a time to prepare well for CETs in pursuit to their dreams -- one is getting into one of the top universities. As the span of time for CETs gets shorter each day, overwhelming requirements add up by time, accepting the fact that they are burdening the students. This is one of the school factors, not a personal one, why students most likely fail due to shortage of preparation.

Although Grade 12 students must achieve the objectives of the curriculum by the end of the school year, grinding requirements wouldn't help them meet the system's expectations, but worse yet would result into their further mental, physical, and emotional complications. In other words, Grade 12 students are not machines; they also suffer because of the multiple requirements they have to deal with, and as a result, preparation for CETs are much sacrificed.

Usually, CETs begin in the middle or in the end of the first semester of an academic year. This could mean that the requirements could have been still bearable and friendly for students, for the first half of the academic year. In other words, giving them the higher level tasks could take place as the second semester starts, or as CETs will have been finished. In this way, not only that the potential of the students and the curriculum's objectives are still met, not even a small portion of it is condemned, but the students could have at least a time, most likable at night, to prepare for CETs.

Grade 12 students should be able to prepare in taking the Higher Education as one of the four (4) exits of education, in such way that would benefit both the system and the students through having some time in preparing for CETs. School requirements should be compressed and minimized for the first semester where the students could review for CETs, and as a recoupment, school requirements could continue to be pursued by them by the time CETs are finished. Reviewing is not easy; mastery takes time.

It should not be because the previous batches have survived the system, but this is an eye-opener that there were lives that have been modified by the disregarded cruelty that is embedded in it. It is okay to fail, but it is not always working hard to achieve one's goals if it costs him his life.
