In school, we learn a lot of skills, including creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. In Doral Academy, there is a strong emphasis placed on preparation for college. However, not everybody will end up attending this type of institution. For this reason, our school should offer a "Life Skills" course that will teach us the abilities we will all need when we finish our studies. 

This course would be best if it is a class for seniors (who are about to end high school). Just as we have Physical Education and SAT/ACT Prep as mandatory electives in 9th and 10th grade, this would also be the case for 12th grade. It could cover topics including self-care, parenting, personal finance (taxes, buying houses, budgeting, saving, investing, debt, etc.), information about professions (also including those beyond the ones that require a college education), among others. 

To conclude this petition, having this class in our school will massively affect us. With it, we will turn into confident adults with at least some knowledge of how to handle what they need/might need to do once they finish high school. Doral Academy is a preparatory school for college, but it should also be one for life.
