A lot of people are utilizing their vehicles and their time bringing food to those who either can’t leave their house or prefer not to. To continue bringing such a great service, the drivers need to be fairly compensated. It’s easy to think a tip is fair when not taking into consideration the driver has to go to the restaurant, wait on the food, drive to the customers location and then drive back to ‘hot spot’ areas in order to be able to get another order. When the time adds up with the addition to the wear/gas for a drivers car it’s not substantial enough wages in the long run! Think what it would take for you to leave your house to take someone else food and tip accordingly! Also, with the up-charges from doordash I feel the base pay should be higher.
