ICE has a bad history of screw-ups! Please sign my petition under Immigrant Rights: U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Services and ICE: Review case and allow Michael Arellano to return home. Thanks!!

THIS MAN IS DEARLY LOVED BY THE COMMUNITY,HE CALLS POLICE TO REPORT A CRIME AND HE IS ARRESTED-THIS IS WRONG,THE MAN HAS BEEN IN THE U.S. FOR OVER 20 YEARS WITH A SPOTLESS CHARACTER,YET THE CRIMINALS ARE TREATED BETTER THAN HE IS-DO NOT DEPORT JAI SHANKAR HE IS A MAN OF INTEGRITY AND THE U.S.A. COULD BE DOING MORE WITH GOOD AND HONEST CITIZENS LIKE HIM-GRANT HIM A STAY OF REMOVAL AND LET HIM LIVE HIS LIFE IN THE COUNTRY HE HAS GROWN TO LOVE.

To keep Jai with his family and to send a message that people are more important than upholding wrongheaded policies.

This case exemplifies precisely why the Administration should inject some common sense and simple humanity into the process, and exercise prosecutorial disicretion.

Because law enforcement commitment to the community, must be to protect. When it starts to oppress, the voice of the people must be sounded in defense of justice and morally.

We are living in a time where to option to bully takes precedent over protecting the people they are suppose to serve. What we are now witnessing are racial bias and bigotry, contrary to democracy and human decency.
The country I once believed in, is slowly becoming a nightmare that I fear.

Law must be our friend and protector, not something we fear or oppress our personal liberty.

Jai's case represents a perfect example of how immigrants make America stronger. Prosecutorial discretion should be exercised to set aside deportation proceedings, and the MPD should be investigated for violating the Mayor's policy not to inquire about immigration status.

I'm signing because this kind of treatment goes directly against what the Obama Administration has stated its immigration goals are. This is not justice.

Because DC police should not, report someone acting like a responsible resident, I thought ICE only deports criminals.
