Remove reptiles from prohibited animals

An animal ordinace in our small town prohibits reptiles. And I am asking for help to have reptiles removed from the ordinace. I feel this is to broad of an area to have an ordinace prohibiting reptiles, as the ordinance states you can not have them in town limits. This would also include in your home, you could not have a gecko or bearded dragon as a pet. If your an educator you could not have a display. I make a living by educating people of all ages and along with producing reptiles for sale. This ordinace keeps me from making a living doing what I've been doing for 20 years here in our small town. I can not help but feel that do to my council position that this ordinance was aimed at me and my family. I am an elected councilmember for the town. I have asked for 3 years to have reptiles removed from the ordinance to no avail. I am now asking for people to help with this petition. By removing reptiles from the ordinance we can continue educating people about reptiles and thier role in the environment. And offer captive breed and born reptiles as pets. Which in turn keeps them from coming out of the wild. We can once again at town events exhibit reptiles for the public to see them and get up close and personal.
