To allow well-managing diabetics to serve in the military

There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of American youth who have the passion to serve and protect their country. Unfortunately, some of these youth are struck with Diabetes (Type 1) and are stuck with it for life. These passionate and patriotic youth spend their childhood and teenage years preparing themselves for service, only to have their dreams shattered at the recruiting desk. This event shatters their world and takes everything they worked for, and I care because that is what happened to me. I spent my childhood and teenage years in Sea Cadets, JROTC, and other National Cadet Defense Corps programs. I was struck with the Type 1 diagnosis at 14, and even though it was hard, I adapted and overcame my condition to be able to serve my country and keep my health in check, but I was shot down at the recruiting desk and was devastated. This can be changed by the head of the armed forces at the pentagon. Help let patriotic and self-managing diabetic Americans like me, and many others who keep themselves healthy, serve their country and live their dream.
