Stop the Trump Administration from cutting federal education funding
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
Currently, a large gap exists in the United States between certain schools. The reason for this is the reliance of schools on property tax funding. In order to decrease school inequality, additional funding must come from the federal government to the low-income and minority students as well as underfunded schools in order to increase their achievement scores. The Trump administration is planning to cut funding for the U.S. Department of Education as well as other programs that benefit minority, low-income, first-generation, and disabled students like TRIP and GEAR UP. Keeping the funding the same as before or even increasing it will boost student achievement scores and help the trailing schools and students catch up to others. This will, as a result, make our nation competitive with other nations in regards to education achievement, like the countries of the OECD, for example. Also, having a decent education will help students escape poverty in their futures.
