Protection for DACA Recipients.

This is a petition to bring some kind of protection or immigration relief for the people who have applied for DACA, and who are DACA recipients. For those who do not know what DACA is it is an executive action by President Barack Obama that allows eligible undocumented immigrants, to obtain a work authorization card and social security to be eligible to work and go to school legally. This protection is not given to everyone, to be eligible you have to:
- Go through a background check
- Have resided in the US for more than 5 years
- Show proof of being in the Armed Forces or a GED
- Have not committed a felony, a significant misdemeanor or three or more misdemeanors. Etc.
For many they have had this protection since 2012 and have since obtained job, started their education and continued their daily lives like any other citizen.
I am asking for the US government to see past their partisan ways and allow this program to be permanent and continue even under another presidency.
After the election, half of the country was upset over the outcome. Although typical after an election, this time it was different to say the least. The majority of immigrant families are terrified about the outcome more than anything. I do know that there is a process to these laws protecting first the citizens of the United States but what about the people that call this country home? What about the children who had no say on whether or not they wanted to be brought here? The fear of losing not only your life here, but your loved ones, your home, your career, your education, is one that many people are facing at this very moment and time. Due to recent political rhetoric.
Recently due to the passing of a Supreme Court Justice during the Supreme Court Case: United States v. Texas: The Case for DAPA and Expanded DACA; they were left with a split vote of 4-4. This was heartbreaking, leaving nearly 700,000 people in the dark about immigration relief. These people are positively affecting the United States. They are not criminals, they are college students, high school students, your neighbors, your coworkers, your friends. Please sign to shine some light to the broken immigration system and allow the government to pass some protection, regardless of who lives in the White House.
