Protect National Land/Monuments Against Commercial Development

On December 3, 2017, President Donald Trump reduced the size of two national monuments in the state of Utah by almost two million acres. The administration shrunk Bears Ears National Monument by almost 85% and has cut the Grand Staircase-Escalante land almost in half. This is the largest elimination of protected land in American History and is happening because there is a "demand" for more development on public lands. By development I mean opening millions of preserved public acres to logging, mining, gas/oil extraction and other commercial investments. These are the first two major changes that could put the protected rights of these wild places at risk; and it's all in the hands of either us, or Donald Trump and his administration. As a fellow American and conservationist I would love to see the natural beauty of these public lands and many more in the near future. Let us put an end to development on land we have protected for generations and show that these drastic changes are not a chance we are willing to take.
