Help End Escalating Prescription Drug Prices In New Jersey

Help End Escalating Prescription Drug Prices In New Jersey
Why this petition matters
We need your help to contact your Congressional Representatives to show support for H.R.2148 Prescription Drug Price Relief Act of 2021. New Jersey residents are struggling to afford necessities such as maintaining a roof over their head and filling their refrigerators. Statistics show that 1 in 5 adults are not filling prescriptions, taking partial doses of their prescribed dosing or skipping multiple doses due to the cost.
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Southern New Jersey Chapter stand with New Jersey residents to advocate for reasonably priced prescription medications. We are asking Representatives to vote for H.R.2148 to challenge the big pockets of the pharmaceutical industry, and end unfair pricing on essential, lifesaving medications. New Jersey is tired of fighting the pharmaceutical companies to do the right thing on drug pricing. Did you know that The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services project that spending on prescription drugs will continue to increase by 60 percent per capita by 2027? Overall, the U.S. spent about $330 billion on prescription drugs in 2017 — a 40% increase from 2007.
We need to send a clear a message to the pharmaceutical industry, as well as we are asking members of Congress, to support allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices.
In NJ, 90% of residents support allowing Medicare drug price negotiations. NJ Congressional Representatives and Senators must vote with the will of the people!
The intent of this petition is to send a message to New Jersey Congressional Representatives that their constituents demand change!
