URGENT PLEA for Sepideh Rahimi

0 have signed. Let’s get to 15,000!

On April 9, 2019, my wife Sepideh Rahimi, was suddenly diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). We have a 6 year-old son named Ryan Daneshi. My wife is currently hospitalized for her illness, and is under the second round of Chemotherapy and in critical condition at the intensive care. We are hopeful to succeed against the odds and she is fighting hard.

One of her wishes is to be reunited with her beloved mother, Ms. Mahin Kahnamouei, currently residing in Iran. The Consulate General of the United States of America in Ankara has rejected our family's plea for Sepideh’s mother's temporary visa. The application was denied due to the Presidential Proclamation 9645 which restricts most B1/B2 visas to Iranian nationals. Although the waiver is being assessed by the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, the outcome or timing cannot be predicted and is expected to take a long time (if granted at all) as waiver is an intensive multi-agency effort. Sepideh’s mother urgently needs a temporary visa to the United States to visit her sick daughter and this is truly the ONLY reason.

We are rallying together community members for support of a plea for Sepideh Rahimi’s mother's temporary travel visa. We have reached out to our senator and local representatives and will be sending your support to U.S. Senator Kamala Harris and Congressman Gil Cisneros (California's 39th Congressional District) seeking their assistance of a reconsideration by The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and Consulate General of The United States of America in Ankara.

Please sign in support to reunite Sepideh and her mother during these difficult times. Your signature is a symbol of our community binding together out of love and compassion. We thank you for your prayers.

With sincere gratitude,

The Rahimi-Daneshi Family
