The use of tear gas is no longer allowed in war. So why is the use of it allowed by police? 

Tear gas is extremely harmful to the eyes, nose, mouth, skin, and respiratory system. During this time of COVID-19, using tear gas on huge groups of people is even more dangerous than it was before. Tear gas can also be lethal if inhaled at large amounts, but clearly, the police don't seem to mind. 

Police are clearly abusing the use of tear gas. These protests are peaceful; no trouble is being started by the protesters, and yet this harmful chemical is STILL being thrown into crowds to get them to disperse. Why is this allowed? How have we not yet found a different option? 

This needs to change. People are getting hurt. Using tear gas is no way to get your message across.
