Recently, Washington, DC Mayor Bowser expressed support for landmarks in the city to be "removed, renamed or contextualized.” This includes the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial. Sign this petition to show your support for American history. Of course, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were very flawed individuals, but we are all. Our founding fathers contributed so much good to this country and its formation. Our founding fathers are more than their mistakes, as we all are. A person has a statue to commemorate the good things they have done, not to celebrate the bad.
