Eva Shepard started this petition to President Donald J. Trump

In 1994, there was a Rwandan genocide that had a death toll of about 800,000. It was 100 days of Hutu extremists killing Tutsis. During this time, Paul Rusesabagina managed a hotel. When this genocide began, he hid 1,268 Hutu AND Tutsi refugees. He provided a safe place, food, water, shelter and protection. He risked his own life for not only his family but for random strangers. He saved so many lives, and won the Presidential Medal Of Freedom, as well as U.S Citizenship from Former President Bush.

He is currently an activist and humanitarian. Paul has been outspoken about his critiques towards the government in Rwanda. The outcome led him to getting an unfair arrested and sent to a jail where he is not receiving proper medical treatment. He has suffered strokes in result of this. The Rwandan government has claimed he is not a hero and did in fact charge the refugees money for staying at the hotel, for terrorism and from supporting a known military group (which is most likely not the case since Paul has never seen his actions as heroic and the Rwandan government is just saying this because he has critiqued them in public). He needs a fair trial and needs these accusations to be proven because he will most likely get an unfair trial and be sent to prison on no proof.

I am asking for the Trump Administration to not only send him to a proper facility where he can get medical help, but to also make sure that he has a FAIR trial in court. He is a US Citizen and deserves to be protected after what he has done for others. I also want Donald Trump to speak out and not stay silent on such an important topic.
