As with the first stimulus check, a large group of people have gone forgotten once again. Dependents over the age of 17 will not be receiving a $600 stimulus check. Dependents and their caretakers are humans too, who need money and food to survive like the others, especially during these times where jobs are hard to find or keep. They also deserve to receive money to help them through the pandemic.

A lot of dependents are students but, with schools/colleges closed, dorming and meal plans are out the window, making them have to find new living arrangements at the last minute with family and friends. This is an added unexpected cost to those households; an added cost of groceries and utilities that wouldn’t have been there previously. With an added $600, these costs won’t be too much of a financial burden on these households.

Another large group of dependents is the disabled community. These are people who are unable to work and may have a caretaker. Without taking into consideration the medical cost they may have, it’s unrealistic not to give these people $600, as they too have living expenses to cover.

We need this money as much as everyone else, help us get congress to remember us too in this upcoming check.
