Demand the Senate not confirm a nominee until after the election!

In 2016, the Senate stalled confirmation hearings on President Obama. They claimed that since it was an election year, they wanted to "give the people a voice in the filling of this vacancy” to the highest court in the land. Now, it is 2020 and with President Trump down in the polls, Republicans are scrambling to nominate a justice to the court to make a majority.

"With voting already underway for the 2020 elections, Ruthie’s “most fervent wish” was for her replacement not to be named “until a new president is installed.” We must honor her wish," tweeted Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., who served as a law clerk to former Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun and argued a case in the high court, tweeted, "The American people must have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president...this close to the election, there is no way that the United States Senate can or should act before the voters decide."

This is the hypocrisy of the Republican Party and it must be stopped. It is becoming out of control and we need to ensure that the Supreme Court is not damaged for the next decades to come. This is the future we are fighting for.
