Instead of setting an arbitrary date (April 30) for this country to return to normal, why doesn’t President Trump set up drive through test sites throughout the country where people can safely and rapidly be tested, free of charge, for active disease with COVID-19 and immunity to COVID-19.  The testing could then be repeated at a later date to further document a person’s status.  These rapid tests now exist! (Henry Schein and Abbott)

1) People  with immunity can probably safely return to work.

2) People with active disease need to be isolated.

3) Those who have not yet been exposed need to continue to shelter in place.

This would also provide amazing epidemiological data regarding the ever-changing status of COVID-19 across the country!  It would help identify individuals who might serve as plasma donors for treatment of patients with moderate to severe disease.  It would also expedite a diagnosis in patients with mild symptoms, in case their symptoms progress and they need hospitalization! 

Perhaps a company or foundation in the private sector needs to help implement testing, if our government continues to refuse to take action!
