Please change the gun laws in our country and make our country a safer place. Here’s is a list of proposed ideas that the government should put in place.

Mandatory 72 hour inpatient mental health hold to purchase a firearm.

(We feel that in order to purchase a firearm everyone should be required to stay at least 72 hours in a mental health facility, be seen by a doctor, and then cleared by a judge before purchasing a firearm to prevent any mentally ill individual from purchasing a gun.)

If you receive any government assistance including food stamps, Medicare, SSI, Disability, WIC, Ect. You should automatically be disqualified from purchasing a firearm.

If you require anything such as glasses, wheelchairs, canes, crutches, pacemakers, or any other medical devices you should automatically be disqualified from purchasing a firearm.

(We feel that those who are unable to go about life without the help of medical devices shall be deemed physically unfit to own any firearms.)

All citizen owned firearms should be stored at local police stations, or sheriffs offices until you want to go to the range. Then you should be required to rent your firearm out but only if appropriate paperwork is filled out and the paperwork is approved by a judge.

(Passing this as a law will be a good way for gun violence in our country to decrease.)

Minimum age to purchase a firearm should be 45 years of age and be required to take a 5 year firearm safety course. Along with the completion of a 72 hour mental health hold.

To purchase ammunition for any firearm you must be be at least 45 years of age, have already completed the 72 hour mental health hold, and the purchase must be approved by a judge.

With everyone’s help we can get these passed and make our country a safer place to live.
