The cannabis industry is not eligible for Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Payroll Protection Loans due to current federal law and scheduling of cannabis. In addition to cannabis brands, this limitation affects countless suppliers, marketing agencies, publications, law firms, logistics providers, landlords, small investors, local tax districts - and most importantly, the over 250,000 full time cannabis industry employees, countless part time and contract employees, and the employees of indirect service providers and vendors of the industry.

Many states have deemed cannabis industry brands as "essential" during the current government shut down. This is a great step in the direction of helping the millions of American's that find relief from cannabis products. The inability of securing SBA stimulus relief loans to insure payroll protection applies not only to direct cannabis providers, but also any business that indirectly works with the cannabis industry. This includes businesses that may additionally supply products and services outside outside of the cannabis industry.

Please show your support for SBA Payroll Protection Loans to be made available to direct and indirect cannabis industry businesses and vendors.
