"If it were possible to wave a magic wand and make all Americans freeze in place for 14 days while sitting six feet apart, epidemiologists say, the whole epidemic would sputter to a halt." Obviously, this is a theoretical situation and quite impossible, but I feel there is a way to almost replicate it within our society. All Americans would need to comply (which is the hardest obstacle to overcome) especially since our rights would be taken away if an absolute lock down was ordered. To sum it up, we need an executive order to come out from Trump, or congress needs to pass a piece of legislation basically saying this: "All citizens inside of the United States territory shall prepare for a 14 day complete lock down which will occur May 25 and last until June 8th. This includes obtaining all food, water, or other items necessary. Essential service workers will receive a special permit Prior to lock down allowing them to leave their homes, Otherwise citizens seen outside of their homes will receive a 200 dollar fine." If this happens successfully, a few more weeks of quarantine how it is as of today May 3rd after this lock down should relieve the United States of the virus similar to how China did.
