Don’t Suspend Daniel Schwarz!

In the conflict between Daniel Schwarz and Vinney Glover we believe Daniel does not deserve to be suspended or for this incident to go on his record. 

    Principal Kleinschmidt please consider:

• Daniel had no way to know that he was misgendering Vinney because Vinney never told Daniel 
• If Vinney felt mistreated or otherwise bullied, they should have spoken with an adult and/or used the Bullying Reporting Form or otherwise acted so that Daniel would have had an opportunity to 1. become aware that he was misgendering and 2. change his behavior
• Daniel backed away from the fight instead of responding physically when Vinney punched him. We believe his punishment should reflect his positive move to de-escalate rather than fight back
